The SantadanceRemember hampsterdance.com? That was 8 years ago. And back then a great host of imitation and copy cat dancing web pages cropped up overnight. I admit I was one of them. One big difference is that The Santadance is still going and going and going while almost all the others became nothing more than cobwebs and broken links.

Santadance was originally created to just be a cheesy imitation of hampsterdance, complete with sped up music track. The jingle dogs happily bark at double time in the background as various animated Santas dance on the page.ho ho ho!

But something else was added that made a difference. The code is a little different today (thanks to Merlin at http://www.merlinstower.com) but back in the day the image ALT code was used to “hide” the Christmas story as found in the Book of Matthew from the Bible. It was a smashing success. People actually began bookmarking the site. It was even part of a holiday feature broadcast on CNN.

The version of the Christmas Story from the Book of Luke was added as Dr. Luke’s Santadance a year later.

So visit and enjoy something that has been proclaiming the Real Story of Christmas on the web for nearly a decade.
