I saw this in the online edition of the Des Moines Register
Is mayor for guns or against them? How inviting is the welcome mat?

The city of Des Moines continually courts events that will bring visitors to the city and Iowa. One such event was the Pheasant Fest. We also love to see the hunters come to hunt deer and other wildlife.
Unfortunately the mayor of Des Moines has chosen to join Mayors Against Illegal Guns [an organization with a mission statement of "making the public safer by getting illegal guns off our streets."] The two don’t go together. Is Mayor Frank Cownie in favor of gun money or is he opposed to it?
We have a long history of hunting and related shooting sports in Iowa. Don’t jeopardize these traditions and insult the law-abiding citizens in Des Moines and Iowa.
I got to wondering, are those mayors involved with the MAIG FOR legal guns? Maybe they can produce a list of guns that are acceptable to their organization? I checked their FAQ Section, nope, no list of guns they like. I did a search for LEGAL GUN on their site and the two words only appear once together there, with regards to a legal case against a gun shop.
I wonder if the organization is really “Mayors Against Guns”? They don’t seem to acknowledge there is such a thing as a “legal gun”.

I believe that - in time - you will understand his motivation; Guilliani [sp] rules 9/11, gets national attention, runs for POTUS. Bloombug rules the antigun coalition through the mayoral ruse, gets national attention, runs for POTUS later.
Maybe yes, maybe no really… but he has put his “people” into other states to attempt straw purchases so he can coerce the dealers into a Bloombug fix by suing them. That’ll get national attention, right?
The following excerpt from the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) - http://vcdl.org - describes a Bloombug action that occurred in several states.
…………….
As you know, Bloomberg hired private investigators to do an end-run
around Federal and Virginia law enforcement, by running his own
personal ’sting’ operation, hoping to find dealers who ‘appeared’ to
be allowing ’straw’ purchases. Why are the Virginia State Police
silent on this?
Whatever evidence Bloomberg has on the four Virginia gun stores, he
won’t provide it to anyone, INCLUDING the BATFE!

Sorry about the overrun - what is the word/character limit? Do you get to see the whole item before it’s cut off?
Please email.
Thanks.
