Here is a copy of the FINAL Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Kind of puts a touch of finality to the series.

I am starting a new site devoted to all things polymer clay, Sculpey Club.

Sculpey Club

Any input on how to make this a more fun and informative site let me know.

I have a short experiment already online. I try to make an Altoids tin into a keepsake turtle box. It goes fairly well until the very end. Give it a look.

I followed approximately the How To Make a Sculpey baby tutorial from a few posts ago. I did not photograph a series of the steps I used because I was not sure if this experiment would even come out humanoid much less along the lines of the directions.

Well, you can judge my work below.

About 2 hours of sculpting and nearly 40 minutes of baking. The figurine is about 7 inches long.

Ok, so my previous installment is VERY detailed. Wire frames, plumbers epoxy, air brush, that is a lot for someone just wanting to make nice little figurines in sculpey clay. Well here is a great tutorial on making something much simpler, is much less involved, and will probably only take a day (maybe two) to complete from start to finish.

A sculpey antelope, very small so one does not need to worry about an internal support structure (i.e. wires and foil), and can be painted rather simply to get a great effect. Click on over to the ArtSpots forum and enjoy. I am going to give it a try and post what my results are.
