I enjoy making things. I can make things with wood or metal or even digitally with Photoshop. But lately I was developing the urge to sculpt something. Since this was the first time I considered using clay to sculpt something I had no idea where to begin. I picked up a 5 pound box of sculpting clay from a hobby store going out of business and dove right in.

It was fun to form and make things like monster heads and small animal figurines. But when I decided a couple of these brick-a-brack were worthy to be saved I tried to take the next step and harden those creations. Sheesh! 2000 degrees for hours and hours for fire them!

I looked into making my own backyard kiln, but compared to the few trinkets I wanted to fire the time and materials involved would be staggering. And there were precious few places around the neighborhood that rented kiln time.

Into the closet with the 5 pound box of pottery clay. Maybe someday. A while later I chanced upon Super Sculpey Clay. What a great find! Handles very well, not too soft nor too hard. Has a long shelf life without special conditions (ask me what happened to my 5 pound ROCK after a couple of months sitting in the closet). And it can be baked hard in an ordinary kitchen oven in little time.

Ok, I thought, let’s get started! I wanted to make something right away but usually when I made a deer or some other object the unsupported parts would begin to sag and droop even before I got it finished enough to get to the baking staqe. I searched Youtube for different ideas until I came upon this video. I got all my ideas lined up and finally had a notion of how to execute my first sculpture.

This is a GREAT video to watch and learn if you are just starting out with polymer clay modeling. Watch and see and I am sure you will agree, this is a great foundation to build upon.

This is a great little secret to rotate random videos in your post (using Viper’s Video Quick Tags) or on your home or sidebar pages. It all depends on a little Wordpress Plugin called Random Words by Ozh.

The secret is to select the Youtube videos you want in the rotation and enter them into a list kept by the Random Words plugin. When you choose a video only copy from the Youtube URL the last portion;

e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPYGFNIv_Ak

You would only use the portion in bold, the DPYGFNIv_Ak part of the url. Populate your list with the videos you like.

To place the videos into a blog post you would use Viper’s Quick Tags and set it up like this (my Random Word list is named ‘videos’)

[ youtube][ random:videos][/youtube ]

Simply hit RELOAD or REFRESH to change the video.

To use the Random Words plugin on your home page or sidebar it is as easy as adding this code to your php:

According to Hillary Clinton, if you choose to not purchase some sort of Health Care for yourself you will have your money forcibly CONFISCATED by the government and given to the government sponsored health plan.

This is the socialist utopia Hillary (and B. Hussein Obama) have planned for the United States of America. No longer the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” The world according to Hillary is the “Land of the Government and the Home of the Worker.”

But don’t believe me, read it for yourself at Yahoo News. “Garnishing wages” from people whom choose freely to not purchase Health Insurance just because she disagrees with the free will of the people.

I guess some people in America are more free than others in Hillary’s estimation. But angry, post-menopausal narcissists should NOT be in charge of the family checkbook much less the economy of the Free World.

PLEASE! America, do NOT elect this female. And B. Hussein Obama isn’t electable.

And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not elect Mushy McCain, he and Hillary are nearly the same save one letter (D vs. R).  But, where McCain is a spineless political hack, Hillary is a soulless megalomaniac.

So sorry Ann Coulter, a vote for Hillary is a giant leap towards a National Fascist State. A vote wasted on McCain is a vote for four more years of George W. Bush “liberal Republicanism”. We don’t need either, but while we can survive the latter, we can’t live with the former.
